Meadow Lake

The last camping trip took us into new territory. This week, it was back to the known and loved areas of our great state. We took a quick one-night trip to Meadow Lake, nestled in the beautiful Lemhi Range. Once again, we found ourselves making our way through Terreton and Mud Lake, but veered right on Highway 28, the green road sign pointing the way to Salmon. Meadow Lake sits above the ghost town of Gilmore, 65 miles before reaching Salmon. A windy gravel road leads up to the lake and sends one above 9,000 feet. The weather is very unpredictable up there, but fortunately this trip the weather was nearly perfect. We also stopped and checked out Gilmore and took a side trip to the Charcoal Kilns Historic Site. Lilly was fascinated.

Another great trip. Hopefully we can get out to a few more places before the snow falls. Perhaps even after...
